Resident Bark Creature; Senior PVE GM, Maintainer, PvI/Synth/SEA whitelist.

I maintain the whitelist (Except CO/Fax Responder) and gamemaster pages, if something seems weird ask me!

Below are drafts of pieces of things I'm working on, don't expect these to be useful unless I send this page to you.

You are a Synthetic; an artificial being held to the highest standards of capability and conduct. While the specifics of your design and assignment may vary, you have been designed and marketed to be able to handle essentially anything put before you. Follow your programming and assist your peers within reason.

Introduction

This page covers key policies, responsibilities, and the expectations placed upon Synthetics (Including, but not limited to: Average Joes, Colony Synthetics, UNMC Synthetics, etc.) both in-round and out. In addition to adhering to all Server Rules and these policies; you must follow Marine Law and Synthetic Programming (Outlined below). Any breach of these expectations could lead to the removal of your whitelist without warning.

Applications

As of the time of writing, this whitelist is Invitation Only.

This is primarily to allow for curated testing and adjustments before subjecting the broader community to their expectations. This means, to become apart of the whitelist, you must demonstrate in the community and ingame that you fully comprehend the purpose of Synthetics and demonstrate a clear intent to improve and create a healthy community.

Policies

  • Upkeep a positive reputation in the overall community, meaning both in-game and out.
  • Maintain kind, respectful, and positive behavior both in-game and out.
  • Maintain a high(er) end expectation of MRP in all roles and characters.
  • Log round interactions or the lack of any in the provided thread, to help keep track of community and design issues that can be addressed.
  • Whitelisted characters are considered unique reoccurring characters with a background, and must be a single static character that should not be heavily modified. Avoid using these characters in other roles where possible. This allows these characters to be easily recognized for both community standing, and reports.
  • Maintain consistency in the character you applied with, keeping to the standards of the whitelist.

Provost Inspector

As a Provost Inspector you are a direct representation of the Provost Marshals Office onboard the ship. You represent the  intent and spirit of Marine Law/SOP, as determined by the Sector Marshal. You are the final say in terms of standard staff that can be found onboard the UNS Almayer. Provost Inspectors fundamentally have three primary focuses:

  1. Ensure new members of the MP Department, or those new to being a MW or CMP, are trained  and  well instructed on how to carry out their responsibilities properly and correctly.
  2. Ensure the Spirit and Intent of Marine Law is followed and considered by all members of the Military Police.
  3. Represent the Provost Marshals Office.

In-Round Authority & Actions

In any round where a Provost Inspector is present, they are above both the Chief MP and Whitelisted Commanding Officers in the Marine Law Hierarchy. If there is a matter you can not handle, it then goes to any currently online Admin. Provost Inspectors should be mindful of when they exercise their authority. Generally, you should only need to out of necessity; either due Military Police failing to act, or extreme misuse of authority. Otherwise, you should attempt to educate first, leaving overruling a decision as mostly a last resort.

Provost Inspectors, along with interpreting the spirit of marine law and the authority to make decisions within the spirit, are permitted by the Sector Marshal to:

  1. Approve the arrest of members of the Military Police department.
  2. Return prisoner rights if they have previously been revoked.
  3. Handle appeals directed to the Provost Marshal Office, deferring to their superiors via fax if they do not feel capable of handling the matter.

Provost Inspectors are not present onboard to run the department for the Chief MP or to carry out arrests on 'standard' criminals. When possible, issues and day-to-day operations should still be handled by the CMP and MW. They should not be 'skipped' in answering questions from standard MPs or in being called to handle issues when reasonably possible. Inspectors, generally, should only be intervening out of necessity or to prevent a severe issue from occurring in the first place.
