New Horizon Day

From Rouny's Marine Corps 14 Wiki

New Horizon Day is celebrated on October 28th across all United Nations member worlds.

It commemorates the formation of the United Nations, and the peace and prosperity it has upheld for everyone. Each year, citizens and service members alike gather under the same sky, or skies, to honor peace, unity, and the endless horizon yet to be explored. They also usually have fireworks.

"Attention Citizens and Service Personnel of all United Nations member worlds.

Today we celebrate New Horizon Day, a day set aside for all peoples, united under one banner, across countless stars, to celebrate and reflect upon our shared journey.

Let us remember that pivotal moment in human history when the dream of interstellar unity was not just a hope, but achieved through through resolve, sacrifice, and cooperation - when we stood on Earth, still scarred by conflict, and chose peace. When we decided that the ideals of mutual respect, collaboration, and collective security would guide us beyond the limits of our homeworld.

These decisions, born of shared humanity and strengthened by the support of our earliest allies, laid the groundwork for our expansion into the stars. From this came the United Nations and the Horizon Expansion Act, which not only secured peace on Earth but also provided the framework for humanity and its interstellar partners to journey further, forge new alliances, and create new homes for future generations.

Today, as we gather under all our own unique skies, even across vast distances in space, let us remember why we began. Humanity once faced an uncertain future alone. Perhaps even now, more than ever, we face the unknown. But together, through cooperation over conflict, we have built and established a shared future among the stars.

It is the duty of every citizen, every commander, every doctor, engineer, and diplomat collectively to uphold these values: peace, unity, and the boundless spirit of our people. The horizon we now traverse is limitless, and it demands of us the same courage and commitment that guided us from the very beginning.

May this day inspire us all toward further cooperation and a brighter future for every corner of our vast civilization.

For unity and prosperity!

For the United Nations!"
