AEGIS Armaments (or Adaptive Engagement & Guidance Integrated Systems.) is the primary weapons contractor for the United Nations Marine Corps. AEGIS Armaments is responsible not only for the manufacture of small arms (Such as the M54C Line of rifles) but also support systems such as mortars, anti-air measures, and equipment such as body armor.

AEGIS Armaments was initially incorporated in the United Nations, and would manufacture small arms such as pistols for the civilian market. Their first breakthrough would be obtaining a UNMC contract for production of the M1984 Pistol. which AEGIS still manufactures to this day. From this jumping off point, AEGIS progressively grew more entrenched within the UNMC procurement establishment. By the time of The Orthis War, AEGIS had become the largest contractor for the UN, with AEGIS engaging in aggressive boardroom takeovers of various competitors.

In recent years, AEGIS and its near monopoly on the UNMC’s procurement has started to crack, with the most recent sign being the UNMC’s adoption of the M77 pistol as standard issue in their modern sidearm competition. AEGIS has also been placed in a fierce competition with Weston Yamada, as the latter angles to capture the UNMC’s shipbuilding, and ship weapons contracts. To secure their proprietary hardware and offset this shifting market, AEGIS has heavily expanded its own private military contracting divisions. Despite the waning influence, AEGIS continues to hold immense clout with the UNMC through their existing contracts, ongoing research cooperation, the formidable presence of their in-house PMCs, and a deep respect held from the many marines who use its weapons.

Operations Department

Primary Operations

PO is the primary private infantry wing of AEGIS Armaments, under the Ops Department. Established to provide a standardized, reliable alternative to both the bureaucratic UNMC and the often-unpredictable independent mercenary market, PO serves as the defensive and offensive backbone for AEGIS’s corporate interests.

Unlike the high-specialization units of other megacorporations, PO is designed around the concept of "Enhanced General Infantry." They are professional soldiers who operate with the same tactical doctrine as the UNMC, often utilizing the same squad structures and chain of command. They are the "boots on the ground" for the company.

PO draws its strength from seasoned veterans. The vast majority of PO personnel are former UNMC marines who have completed their initial tours and sought higher compensation in the private sector. This creates a cultural and tactical bridge between the Marines and the PO; they share the same slang, the same training, and the same fundamental combat philosophy. While they lack the massive numbers of the UNMC, they compensate with a higher average level of experience and superior logistical support.

They use the most stable and reliable versions of AEGIS hardware, equipment that is often one iteration ahead of the standard-issue UNMC gear but without the volatility of experimental prototypes.

While their official mandate is to assist UNMC deployments and ensure mission success, Primary Operations carries a more covert objective, secure any and all Weston Yamada assets or technology on-site, ensuring such intel never makes it back to WeYa HQ.

Specialist Operations

While PO provides the overt muscle for AEGIS Armaments, SO serves as the company's covert operations unit. Functioning as a Tier-2 special operations unit, comparable in operational capability to the UNMC’s MARSOC, SO operatives are highly trained contractors utilized for missions where brute force is a liability.

Drawn from the top of former UNMC Recon and independent mercenary groups, SO teams are deployed to handle problems that AEGIS cannot officially acknowledge.

SO teams are sometimes contracted to support UNMC forces in hostile theaters where MARSOC would be unavailable or unnecessary. They operate ahead of the main Marine deployment, tasked with high-risk reconnaissance, sabotaging enemy infrastructure, painting targets for orbital bombardment, and securing critical landing zones.

Just like their brothers in Primary Operations, their primary objective is to assist UNMC forces, but a secondary, more discreet mission always remains, acquire any Weston Yamada technology or intelligence without getting caught.
