Interstellar Commerce Bureau

The Interstellar Commerce Bureau (ICB) serves as the primary regulatory authority overseeing trade among nations, corporations, and non-governmental organizations, ensuring the efficient flow of commerce throughout known space. Operating independently of any single government, the ICB enforces trade policies aimed at curbing smuggling, black market activity, and piracy while promoting economic stability across known space.

Although officially unverified, many speculate that Weston-Yamada was both the financial backer and founder of the ICB, with many politicians within the United Nations raising concerns about corruption and corporate favoritism within the ICB.

The ICB works closely with the Colony Marshal Bureau and other governmental bodies to enforce regulations, impose fines, and pursue legal action. It is recognized by major powers such as the United Nations, Three Suns Empire and the Socialist Progressive Peoples.

In response to alerts, the ICB may dispatch a liaison accompanied by CMB deputies to investigate black market operations aboard the Almayer or within colonies.
